Seems to me a problem with stale objects/cache somewhere, I think the SQLAlchemy session behaviour is to automatically update the object instances but I don't think this propagates when using multiple sessions/connections like what happens with a threaded server or with multiple process.
Are you using Paste server?, can you try running it with either gunicorn/uwsgi with 1 and 2 processes?
