Yes, this is related to an issue with sprox on multiple selection fields (Like groups and permissions), it has already been fixed and as soon as sprox 0.8.2 is released it should fix by simply updating it.
In the mean time you can install sprox using pip install -e hg+ https://bitbucket.org/percious/sprox#egg=sprox to get it from the repository.
