WebHelpers2 has its first beta release. http://pypi.python.org/pypi/WebHelpers2
Documentation is at ReadThe Docs. https://webhelpers2.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ WebHelpers2 refocuses WebHelpers on a smaller core that can be easier maintained and ported to Python 3. The HTML tag helpers are there, as well as most of the text, number, and container helpers and others. Gone are the large third-party packages: feedgenerator, grid, paginate, markdown and textile, as well as the pylonslib package. Paginate has a separate PyPI distro. Feedgenerator does too, although it doesn't have the WebHelpers enhancements. Ergo^ says Grid will be released sometime. Markdown and Textile are available separately in newer versions, and their WebHelpers wrapper didn't do much anyway. The name was changed to WebHelpers2 to avoid breaking existing Pylons and TurboGears applications that depend on the WebHelpers 1 API but didn't specify an upper bound in their compatibility. Now that the basic reorganization is done, I'll focus on porting it to Python 3, modernizing the tests, and decide which helpers to keep in the final. A list of potential deletions is in the TODO in the docs; let me know if you have an opinion one way or the other on them. -- Mike Orr <[email protected]> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
