well since TurboGears uses repoze.who as the library for authentication,
you should look there. (Thats actually also in the first sentence on
http://turbogears.readthedocs.org/en/latest/turbogears/authentication.html
).

You'll find https://repozewho.readthedocs.org/ and then
http://code.gustavonarea.net/repoze.who.plugins.ldap/ .

In earlier versions of the docs, there was a chapter about using a
who.ini configuration file, but that seems to have been stripped of in
the latest version:
http://turbogears.readthedocs.org/en/rtfd2.2.2/main/Auth/whoini.html
