Which application?  The TurboVNC Viewer?  It requires Java at the moment
(the 3.0 release will have an embedded JRE, thus eliminating that
requirement), so install OpenJDK if it isn't already installed.  If it
still doesn't work, then try running it from the command line
(/opt/TurboVNC/bin/vncviewer) and post the error messages.
