This is because of Apple's open-source-unfriendly notarization policy.  For now, you'll have to Ctrl-click the DMG to install it.  I have not figured out how to incorporate notarization into the official VirtualGL/TurboVNC automated build workflow, since the notarization process is asynchronous.
