Provide ant scripts to build selected samples

The samples in the M2 branch are all set up to be built using maven. For
non-maven users, there is currently no alternative approach to building that is
supported or documented. This will be a significant inhibitor to non-maven
users picking up and using the M2 release. We should include ant scripts for
at least least some of the samples to provide an alternative approach that
works "out of the box" for ant and is easy to customize for other build
environments.
