1) I found the following section has been REMOVED recently from http://cwiki.apache.org/CWIKI/:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
h3. Why isn't wiki.apache.org listed with the other approved services?

The Confluence wiki was set up in May 2006, and we still consider it a pilot program. Once we are certain that the installation is reliable, and we are sure that sufficient volunteers are available to maintain the installation, it would be promoted to an approved service. Other new services, like moin-moin, went through the samne "burn-in" phase. At this point, it's "so far so good" for Confluence. Over a dozen projects have created spaces, and we have several ASF Members able to help with the server-side administration, like installing updated releases. Of course, most administrative tasks can be handled by Project volunteers from within Confluence itself."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems to me as a positive sign that CWIKI is now mature.

2) I'm not proposing to change the "edit" policy. The http://cwiki.apache.org/CWIKI/ page also provides some guidances for cases that we use it as a sandbox (open to all registered users) or documentation site (open to folks with CLA on file).

Thanks,
Raymond

What was the resolution on the support question?

The old wiki is open to all registered users - why would we change that policy?

Hi, Dan.

The CWIKI site was set up recently with default permissions. Only users in the tuscany-committers group have "edit" access to the TUSCANY space so far.

1) I'll let the community decide what the appropriate access control we should have, please express your opinions.

Some seed questions:
a. What's the common practice set by ASF?
b. Should we open "edit" to committers or all of the registered users?

2) I can help update the ACL once we have a policy agreed.

Thanks,
Raymond

Hi,

I see the CWIKI site is up (http://cwiki.apache.org/TUSCANY/) but not open
for public editing... shame 'cos I was hoping to write some stuff about
getting started (I personally don't find the web site's getting started
guide that great so thought that I'd have a bash on the wiki... c'est la
vie)

What's the plans now ? Is the CWiki only going to be open to tuscany
commiters - or anyone who is registered (as per existing wiki) ?

Cheers,
Dan

Hi,

As the first step, I have filed a JIRA issue
(https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-1107) to request to create a space for Tuscany on the CWIKI site. Once it's created, we can start to
play
with it and then decide if we should move.

Thanks,
Raymond
