I've republished the SNAPSHOT versions of all the modules so that should allow building individual modules without first having built everything (you may need to use the mvn -U parameter). If you are using maven 2.0.6 or 2.0.7then that could be why you're seeing the other build problems, see http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TUSCANY-1676.
