I believe that this addition to the das/rdb pom.xml will produce a 1.4
compatible jar.

           <build>
               <plugins>

                   <!--  Produce a 1.4 compatible jar -->
                   <plugin>
                       <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
                       <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId>
                       <configuration>
                          <source>1.4</source>
                          <target>1.4</target>

                    </plugin>
