I had two positive responses to the summer of code proposal. But none of the
interested parties are Apache committers. The Apache summer of code wiki
says "Any Apache member and experienced committers can submit ideas...". Any
committers out there interested in supporting this proposal?

Subject: Summer of code tuscany-das proposal

We would like to add the following to the list of Apache Summer Of Code
proposals.

A) does the team support this
B) is it an appropriate task for summer of code

Also, if there is anyone who would like to help out with mentoring and wants
their name added to the list then that would be great.

*Title* Alternative data access service implementations

*ASF Project* Tuscany

*Keywords* Service Data Objects (SDO) alternative Data Access Service
(DAS) implementations

*Description*

*SDO relies on DAS in order to read and update the in memory SDO data graph
from/to persistent store. Some DAS implementations exist, in particular XML
(for PHP, C++ and Java) and in some cases relational database(for PHP). New
implementations could target different data resources such as flat file
(CSV), Microsoft Excel, LDAP or could be driven by different schema
languages such as RelaxNG. ***
