I think we need to send the message that we are working towards 1.0, but we are not there yet. I hope that the "M2" part of the name will successfully convey this meaning. I would like to think that people will read as far as the end of the string and not just look at the first 3 characters :-) I agree that we are currently at about an alpha level of stability and functionality.
