In general, binary or mechanically generated files are not an issue. AIUI arat spots some but not all.

XML files like the ones you mention are somewhat in the middle - they are editable, but no-one is likely to be editing them directly or supplying a patch for them. If they are not part of the build I would suggest moving them out of the source tree e.g. as a resource on the site. That way they would not be included in the distribution.
