Just trying to give some updates here... looks like this recent build issues we are having might be a side effect of the fix for Maven JIRA MNG-1577 [1], some more details are available here [2] and [3].
While we investigate the issue further, a possible workaround (that worked for me) is to move back to maven 2.0.5 client [4]. Please let me know if this works for you as a temporary workaround.
