Urp, turns out I have an "Athlon Inside" label right here on the deck of my laptop! Maybe the difference is my 1.2Gb of RAM. It's an Athlon XP-M 3000+, which runs about 800MHz to save battery power, but can ratchet up to 1.6GHz when processing.
