Hi Paul, You may want to look into SQLite and the pysqlite module instead: http://www.sqlite.org/ http://pysqlite.org/ Unlike MySQL, SQLite is meant to be an embedded database. Grab sqlite from their web page; I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. There was some discussion on the pysqlite mailing list about bundling up pysqlite with a Python application. According a message to their mailing list from May 2005, it's not a problem: http://lists.initd.org/pipermail/pysqlite/2005-May/000058.html but you should probably talk to the pysqlite folks to be sure how to make this work.
