Hi There:

I am Olrik. 17 year old student that is practicing IT.
I recently began learning Python and it's going quite fine.
I'm following a tutorial at http://www.freenetpages.co.uk/hp/alan.gauld/
I just finished the branching tab to the left. And i'm about to start
Modules & Functions.
However, I've reached a point where I'd like some support from someone
that is willing to tutor me
and maybe give me some little assignments that I can practice on.
I'm really willing to learn how to program Python and generally a fast learner.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Regards,
Olrik

Hi Olrik,

You might find the generous person you're looking for by writing to the python-help mailing list. I've been helped enormously from time to time by kind and knowledgeable people there. It works differently from this wonderful Tutor list. Here's the official description:

======================================================
python-help

The python-help mailing list is python.org's help desk. You can ask a group of knowledgeable volunteers questions about all your Python problems.

You can send email to python-help by writing to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for individual support. Mail sent there lands in the mailbox of a small group of volunteers who may reply to reasonable requests for help, depending on their area of expertise. Using it is much preferred to sending mail directly to Guido or some other individual, but less preferable than posting to comp.lang.python. In all cases, try searching the various archives first.

When you ask a question, be sure to give your configuration: what hardware platform, what OS (and version), what Python version, and (when using Tkinter) what Tcl/Tk version you are using. If you're using an older Python version, try upgrading to the latest version first -- things often get better!

You can't subscribe to python-help -- it is not for bystanders, only for questioners to submit questions and for helpers to receive and field them. The archives are not accessible, to protect the questioners' privacy. If you would like to help answer questions, send your qualifications to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

When you send a message to python-help, you will get an automated response. Your message is still delivered to the volunteers, and you will only receive this automated response once every approximately three months

Good luck to you,
