Thats why Mr Stallman wrote emacs! :-)

I once used Teco for a month, just for a dare.
The best thing about it was taking a test file and typing your name into it, and seeing if you could guess what the final result would be...

(For the uninitiated Teco was driven by characters on the keyboard, but it didn't bother to wait till you hit enter it would just do stuff as soon as it had enough data to operate on. A bit like vi in edit mode but without the : And every key seemed to do something!)
