The decimal format is not a common one but the best place to start are the time and datetime (and calendar modules for leap years) in the standard library. They will make writing your own converter easier. For time handling the time modsule includes the strptime/strftime functions which can read/write string representations of times. > writing my own function to convert it ? You might find the datetime module versions of the functions more convenient for dates. -- Alan G Author of the Learn to Program web site http://www.alan-g.me.uk/ http://www.amazon.com/author/alan_gauld Follow my photo-blog on Flickr at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alangauldphotos _______________________________________________ Tutor maillist - Tutor@python.org To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/tutor
