I'm staring at the "Files" page on the Tux Paint project over at
SourceForge. 0.9.11 was released a little over 2 months ago.

Here's how many times the versions were downloaded:

  Platform 0.9.11 0.9.10
  ----------------- -------- ------
  BeOS 67 134
  RH 6.0 RPM 127 [*] N/A [+]
  RH 7.3 RPM 23 N/A [+]
  RH 8.0 RPM 60 N/A [+]
  RH 9.0 RPM 137 N/A [+]
  Slackware 44 94
  Win32 (installer) 1303 7136
  Win32 (ZIP) 183 755
  Mac OS X 663 514
  Source 212 616
  Debian 0 1

[*] This was labelled as simply "i386.rpm", no "rhXX", so people probably
assumed it was the one they wanted, without paying attention to the
    other versions...?

[+] 0.9.10 was not available as RPM (on the SourceForge project)

To group them together by OS, and average them by how many months the
version was out before being superceded by a new version
(~2 months for 0.9.11, ~4 months for 0.9.12), we get:

  OS 0.9.11 0.9.12 Average
  ----------- -------- -------- --------
  Linux [*] 20.14% 8.08% 14.11%
  Windows [+] 53.54% 84.94% 69.24%
  Mac OS X 23.89% 5.53% 14.71%
  BeOS 2.41% 1.14% 2.98%

[*] Includes source, as well as RPMs, DEBs and Slackware.

[+] Includes both installer EXEs and ZIPs.

Just thought it'd be interesting to see the trends.

I just noticed the font downloads. I'll post something about that
next. ;)
