I just pulled up the "Files" section of the Tux Paint SourceForge.net project.
The latest version of Tux Paint has been out for less than 3 weeks, having been released on August 19th. In that time, it has been downloaded about as many times than the previous one had in its two month lifespan (it was released on June 17th) !!! [Speaking only of Win & Mac versions, BTW] The Windows version has been downloaded 1395 times (1246 for EXE, 149 for ZIP). The Mac OS X version was downloaded 1162 times. Compare that to the previous version, at 1486 times for Windows, and a mere 713 times for Mac OS X, in a two month span. That's an average of over 180 downloads (totalling Win & Mac) per day in the last two weeks, compared to an average of only 40 downloads per day for the two months prior. Now, it could be that everyone downloads it right when the first version comes out, so I should really keep better track of when the downloads start trailing off. :^) But at least one thing is apparent, many more Mac users are downloading it now.
