I've actually had problems with several programs crashing under XFCE 
before... it may just be some oddity with XFCE. One time it even resulted 
in an entire directory loosing it's inodes! (Which was terrible, it was a 
collection of Pink Floyd mp3s!)

My solution was just not to use XFCE ;-)

BTW, the programs that crashed for me were:
        * Vectoroids (love that game ;-)
        * Konqueror (that wiped my inodes)
        * XMMS (that was playing the MP3s)

BTW,BTW, this was a good year ago when this happenned, so who knows if 
it's still relevant.
