Here's a neat suggestion on how to print cards using Tux Paint!

Also, just in case no one has mentioned this: Children love to have
something tangible to show for their work, or play for that matter. Of
course their creations can be printed on regular paper, but I thought they
would like to have a card in an envelope -- it's sort of more grown up,
which children also value. So this is what we did to make the cards:

The child makes the design. If there is no text, or no need to have the
finished product facing one way, we just print the design on half-fold
greeting card stock (available at OfficeDepot or Staples type stores).

If there is text, and if there is also a need for the design to face a
certain way:

Make the design, for instance a rubber ducky on blue waves. The stamp has
the duck facing to the right.

To add text, first use the mirror tool to flop the design so the duck faces
left. Then use the text tool for Happy Birthday, Susie (or whatever). Flop
the design again. The duck now faces to the right, and the text is
backwards.

Now flip the design, so the whole thing is upside down on the monitor.

Print. The design will be the right way up on the card stock; the duck is
facing to the right, and the text reads correctly, from left to right.

If there is no need for the design to face a certain way, skip the first
flop. Just add the text, flop it (mirror tool), and then flip it (flip
tool). Print.

Thanks again for a marvelous children's program. Although our children are
grown and gone, and I teach adults (U of Phoenix, Online), I have friends at
school who work in elementary districts, and I'll pass the word about Tux
Paint along to them.

I look forward to the next version (esp. for the full screen!).

Regards,

Marilyn
