I just received an email from a school that came across Tux Paint, and
is considering using it, I guess as a replacement for Kid Pix.

They had concerns that it was missing 'basic options' like cut-n-paste
and resize. (I wasn't exactly sure what he meant by 'resize', so I
asked for clarification.)

I've had others suggest cut-n-paste in the past, too, and was wondering
if it should be something I should consider implementing. I haven't
really ever used KidPix (I played with a Java version a year or so ago),
but from people's comments, it sounds like it's more object-based than
paint-on-a-canvas-based.

I'm not sure that the typical selection tools and'cut-n-paste' that
one finds in, say, The Gimp or MS Paint, would be very useful in
Tux Paint, but perhaps I'm just being stubborn and don't know it.

What do others here think? Should I try cramming a selection tool into
Tux Paint? What would the interface look like? Maybe a set of
selection methods (rect, oval, freehand, magic wand), and copy-n-paste
controls (cut, copy, paste) all on the right side of the screen
(when you select, say, a 'Scissor' icon on the left)...?
