Okay, so Karl made a cool SVG icon for Tux Paint, and sent me a 64x64 and
128x128 rendition.

I immediately tried getting Tux Paint's Makefile to install them into
the same place as the others (on my system, it ends up being in
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/WxH/apps/, where "WxH" is 16x16, 32x32, 48x48).

However, I guess the 'hicolor' icon set in KDE 3.2 doesn't allow for sizes
greater than 48x48. Looking at "index.theme" in ".../hicolor/", I see:

  Directories=16x16/actions,22x22/actions,16x16/apps,32x32/apps,
  16x16/devices,32x32/devices,16x16/filesystems,32x32/filesystems,
  16x16/mimetypes,32x32/mimetypes,32x32/actions,48x48/apps,48x48/devices,
  48x48/filesystems,48x48/mimetypes,64x64/filesystems,64x64/mimetypes

:^/

If I put the icon into the "crystalsvg" directory in /usr/share/icons/,
the 64x64 and 128x128 icons work fine. Yay! :^)

Buuut... I'm not certain that's _right!_ :^( I tried asking on
the #kde IRC channel earlier tonight, but it seemed pretty dead,
and I didn't get any response to my queries and confusion.

I poked around the KDE and KDE Artists documentation/sites, to no avail.
(Many broken links... Artists site Wiki never responded... and so on :^( )

Then I noticed this, in my "/usr/share/icons/" directory:

  lrwxrwxrwx  1 root  root     10 Feb 27 01:50 default.kde -> crystalsvg

So... what I've done for the MOMENT is have the Makefile put the icons
in the "default.kde" subdirectory. This goes under the assumption that
there IS one that's used. (If it doesn't exist, I think the "install"
command will make it. That can be even messier! >:^/ )

So any KDE experts out here wanna give me a hint as to the RIGHT way to
do this?

PS - I've changed "Icon=tuxpaint.png" to "Icon=tuxpaint" in the
"tuxpaint.desktop" file, and also put the new SVG Karl made into
the ".../scalable/" folder, so presumably that'll work, if everything's
right.

Thanks!

Tired,
