Yeah, I kind of feel the same way as Bill. But here are a few things to
think about:

  1. We can organize the files under "c:\program files\tux4kids" but still
organize the programs separately under the start menu (not under
     Tux4Kids menu.)

  2. Maybe it's easier for kids to have the programs organized under
a separate kids menu, in this case Tux4Kids.

I'm more concerned about backwards compatibility than anything else.
When programs switch file locations, installing newer versions of a
program doesn't always get the file location migration correctly. For
example,

  1. I install TuxType that uses "C:\Program Files\TuxType" as its path.

  2. Then I install newer version of TuxType that uses "C:\Program Files\
     Tux4Kids\TuxType".

  3. What happens to all the files in "C:\Program Files\TuxType"? I would
*HOPE* that the newer version knew to remove the old files in
"C:\Program Files\TuxType". Now all the future versions of TuxType
needs to be aware of this fact and know to check for TuxType in
"C:\Program Files\TuxType". If one version misses it, the user can
end up with unnecessary directory with unnecessary files, which leads
     to slowdowns of the system.

Maybe that's not an issue because the installer checks for an old version
in the registry and uses the uninstaller of the previously version to
uninstall the old version first. But I'd just be weary of things like
that and other things (that I'm not currently aware of.)
