Okay, I think Tux Paint Config. is ready for people to try out!
It loads settings from the config file (".tuxpaintrc" on Unix),
shows the GUI (with any non-default settings from the config. already applied),
and saves any changes you make back out to the config file.
The latest is in CVS, and I've rolled together a source tarball release
(called "0.0.5") for folks to beta-test:

Please take a minute to try it out and give me any feedback or updates!
(Porters, please let me know what bits need to change to help get it running
on Mac OS X, Windows, BeOS, etc.!)
