[CCing Calvin and Max directly, as well as posting my results to tuxpaint-dev]
I played with Max Horn's build of Tux Paint 0.9.14 (CVS from 2004-09-22)
at the Apple Store today, and took a few notes. Unfortunately, I didn't
get the chance to play with Calivn's 'console app' build.
I'm hoping we can get the following ironed out before the final release,
if possible! (Calvin and Max, can you two work together? ;^) )
* There's an "About" pop-up, which is neat, but when I click its close
button (little red '(x)' in the window's title bar), Tux Paint then
thinks the mousebutton is being held down, and I needed to click again
to 'unstick' it.
* The menus at the top have some options, which all seem to work, but they
all list keyboard shortcuts, none of which work -- I'm guessing I need
to deal with them manually in SDL (recognize the keys, and then use
some platform-specific window management calls for the most of them):
* Apple-M - Minimize
* Apple-Q - Quit
* Apple-H - Hide Tux Paint
* (?)-Apple-H - Hide Other Windows (have no idea what modifier key it is)
* Clicking Tux Paint's icon and doing 'Get Info' shows a "Languages" option.
Cool! But how do we use it!?!
* When Tux Paint is running, the icon in the Dock is the ugly one with
a black background. (This may have been fixed recently when John changed
some things to get a better icon in the Win32 build.)
All of the above are "I'd like them to be fixed," but the next two are
show-stoppers! They need to be fixed before we can release it! :^)
* The "Starter" images aren't there in the 'Open' dialog.
(Probably a path issue, similar to the first Win32 build or two after
I added the Starter feature)
* The mouse pointers are messed up!
(I just provided some 16x16 pointers which can be used to get around
this, though, so it's fixed... we just need to use it! :^) )
Thanks!
-bill!
