That's not easy. Once a file lives in the CVS repos, the bits can very well be "sticky" eternally. The best way to cope with these issues is to seperate the repository bits from the distribution/installation bits. In one sentence: ignore the bits and set them explicitely upon installation. It it also fundamentaly the better approach.
