I have limited time available for this exercise, but it's still possible we could arrange something. To get gdb to divulge the necessary info, you'd need a backtrace *just before* SDL bails. By the time it has finished bailing, the program has exited, so the backtrace at the time the bug was triggered is gone. I'm wondering if there's any way to get SDL itself provide a backtrace before it bails? This seems like a reasonable thing for the developers to have coded in a modestly complex set of libraries like SDL, (or at least in a debug version of the libraries,) and is therefore worth looking into.
