Hi

My Name is Paul sutton. I currently volunteer in a primary school in
England. I have installed tux typing 2 on a reception class computer (4
year olds) running windows 98, I decided to join the list so I could give
the community some feedback to the group, I also have it running on my home
computer also, this has linux suse 9 and win98 as dual boot.

Their class teacher has suggested that that it may be better to have a lower
case option, for the younger children as they are used to using lower case
letters, some schools have overlays for the keyboard with lower case
letters, while the older children have normal keyboards. perhaps there
could be an option for this.

I have just had a look at the word list and if I change the upper case
letters in the word list to lower case, the game displays the words in lower
case ok, but if I try and type them in the game does not seem to register me
typing the words in (whether caps lock is on or off) where as words
displayed when I type them in upper case register regardless of the caps
lock status. This seems odd I will investigate myself further. I only
altered a few of the words to see what would happen, should I have changed
all of them?

Apart from that the game is great. I think the kids enjoy using it. I am
tryng to see if I can get it installed on some other computers, but that
will have to wait till after christmas when I go back. I am trying to
advocate the software as well as the other tux4kids software. Tux paint is
currently installed on a nursery (pre school computer).

Thanks for any help, and keep up the good work

Paul
