I don't know what the phrase "some sort of Palin tweak" means.

Using unattributed rumors is (or should be) beneath the level of a journalist.

For all I know, the rumor stems from those on this list who think
Palin will appear on SNL. "A top honcho from the John McCain campaign"
means nothing to me, since to the best of my knowledge, it does not
read "honcho" on any political operative's business card. Without a
name attached to the rumor, this article lacks credibility.
