The always-sensitive net was not willing to air "Torturing Democracy,"
a film condemning the Bush Administration's detention policies, before
the election (and not until Jan. 21, one day after the inauguration)
for various alleged unpolitical reasons (like not wanting to compete
with the Olympics and needing to unload that lame "Car Talk" cartoon)--
co-producer WNET in New York has been syndicating it to fellow
pubcasters (stations covering 85 percent of the country will be airing
it between now and the end of the year):
