As it is now after 1:00 am out here on the coast I have removed the spoiler space. Is it possible they used tape from the dress rehearsal in the Draper skit? The story below, and others I have found tonight, report that she had baby "Archie" hours before showtime. It looks like that also means "Let's get me out of this skirt" might be the last line Poehler delivers on SNL. Is Archie an actual name, or short for something like Archibald? I thought Hamm killed on the show tonight - both as Draper and in the other skits. The preview of the Obama show should have been better, but it was spoiled a bit because it seemed the cast did not really know the lines/songs that well, and something was wrong with the sound. Maybe this was more result of the baby-excitement? I guess they were trying to balance things out by doing the entire open making fun of Biden and Murtha gaffes (particularly noble since there was such a tempting banquet of McCain campaign targets to make fun of). I was 100% sure they were setting up a joke about Biden asking a local politician to stand up even though he was confined to a wheel chair, which was a joke Stewart did on the TDS this week when also making fun of gaffes, but then they never paid it off. The wheel chair thing happened a month ago or so, so I guess it did not quite fit with the "mark my words, there will be a crisis to test Obama" line - but then that was not said at a public rally with Murtha either, so it seems like they could have folded it in. http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b65667_amy_poehlers_weekend_update_baby_boy.html Live from New York...it's a Saturday night baby. SNL "Weekend Update" anchor Amy Poehler and her partner in wisecracking, Will Arnett, welcomed their first child just hours before showtime. Archie Arnett checked in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce. "Mother, baby and husband are all healthy and resting comfortably," NBC said in a statement. The birth announcement came courtesy of Poehler's "Weekend Update" tag-team partner, Seth Meyers, at the opening of the fake news segment: "Amy Poehler is not here tonight because she's having a baby. Now here are tonight's other top stories..." Poeher previously confirmed that she would not return to SNL as a regular after maternity leave, though she and producers were hoping Archie's grand debut would hold out until after the election. After a stint on diaper duty, Poehler will begin work on a new NBC sitcom from the brain trust behind The Office. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Like TV only smarter.
