Yes, the guy who designed the only 4:3 ratio theater stage for
television production (specifically the Oscars), failing to take into
account that 16:9 televisions were starting to flood the market (which
means now every stage ever designed is suitable for television...
except his), will be in charge of conceptual design of this year's
Oscar telecast. One can only wonder how he will decorate the wings of
the stage to make them not look like places for emergency exits and
cable chases. Maybe he can fly in an ornate curtain above the stage to
hide the light grid.
