I suspect the NBC Washington bureau establishment would not cotton too
much to an outsider coming in.
And as for "Nightline," won't happen. As much as the journalism
hardliners complain about the new format, its ratings have held up and
in some cases have been better than Koppel's days. And if ABC gets
Leno, it's pretty much dead meat.
