Here's an example of a story for The Foundation:
Four young boys lost their parents when they were killed in gang fight
cross fire. Now living with their grandparents, below the poverty level,
the boys remain traumatized and rarely leave home. Home schooled by
their grandmother, a former concert pianist, they sing in a church choir
and turn to music to overcome their pain. But the grandparents' health
is failing, their home is in disrepair, and the situation for the boys
is becoming desperate. To make matters worse, a local gang is recruiting
them to take revenge on the rival gang accused of killing their parents.
Without intervention, the boys are headed for disaster. They need a good
education, a safe home, mentors in their community, and a positive
vision for their future...before it's too late. With the help of
national and local charities, experts, and volunteers, The Foundation
will transform this tragic situation by implementing a holistic solution
to renew their mind, body, and sprit – including the creation of a small
charter school, the repair of their home, the engagement of adult
mentors, and a special benefit performance of their church choir –
including a solo by their aging but soulful grandma.
