When I commit to a diet and exercise program (about 6 months out of the year), it actually works and I drop 30 pounds or so (then gain it back over the next 6 months... lather-- rinse-- repeat). It astounds me when people ask me what me secret is for losing weight. When I reply "diet and exercise," they're almost instantly disappointed, as everyone secretly hopes there is some other way to do it. I'm not offended by what he said, and I was mildly amused by it (though I'm more interested in what Karl Pilkington's views would be). I can only say that anyone who can't find the humor in those who get the stomach stapling should meet a former co-worker of mine. She had to have the stapling done more than once (for the record, more than twice) because it didn't take. Say what you will, that woman had the mother of all appetites (as well as the father, two brothers, and a sister). > "It's not the same thing though, is it?
