The racy teen drama "Skins" started its third season with an almost-
entirely-new cast of teens last night (no thirtysomething Gabrielle
Cartereses on this show) on Channel 4's young-skewing digital channel
E4--and similar to that much-hyped-but-little-watched teen drama on
The CW here, didn't have too many people watching it, even considering
that it was on a "multichannel"--a 4 share isn't that hot *and* it was
beaten in the ratings in its 10 p.m. time slot against the late news
on BBC1 and ITV by BBC3's *repurposing* of an episode of the venerable
"EastEnders" that had aired on BBC1 *earlier last night*:

Granted, "Skins"' competition included the UK premiere of the current
season of "Grey's Anatomy" on Living (which seemed to me to be created
as a UK version of HGTV--looks like they have channel drift over
there, too), but still, this show seems to have more publicity than
people who actually watch it, just like "Gossip Girl."

I believe "Skins"' third season starts in the U.S. next week on BBCA,
which seems to be a trend for BBCA to combat torrents--I believe I saw
that "Torchwood"'s new season this summer will air day-and-date with
the UK.
