A global warming denial blog, aided and abetted by the BBC-hating Tory tabloid the Daily Mail, is attacking BBC2's nightly "Newsnight" (similar to Koppel-era "Nightline") for putting quotes from President Obama's inauguration speech on the environment out of order and therefore out of context in an analysis piece on Obama's environmental platform:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/organgrinder/2009/jan/27/bbc-tvnews If you look at the piece by science reporter Susan Watts, the quotes are played as audio clips at the beginning of the piece over shots of a palatial British countryside, with Watts' analysis delivered in a greenhouse: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/newsnight/7841946.stm "Newsnight" admitted in 2007 that it had mixed up a chronology in another piece at about the same time the Beeb was under fire for showing a documentary about Queen Elizabeth II (produced by the people who bring you "Wife Swap" and "Don't Forget the Lyrics!") that seemed to show her storming out of an Annie Leibovitz photo shoot when she hadn't. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ TV or Not TV ....
