Disgrunled employees at wnet.org (as NY's PBS station now styles
itself, although its corporate name is still the stodgy Educational
Broadcasting Corporation) claim that the station's new nightly news
program "Worldfocus" (which is not carried in NY on either WNET or
sister Long Island station WLIW) is responsible for the recent layoffs
of 80 employees at the station and is especially hurting local
programming--management begs to disagree:
