Can't speak for NYC, but up here, my station (the CBS affil) more or
less operates the Fox station, and we run their signal (SD, but
widescreen) on our .2 channels.  The NBC affiliate, which is operating
the ABC station, has a similar setup--they've got four digital
transmitters between the two stations (each station up here has two
channels--we're a big market, geographically), so on two of them, ABC
gets the HD treatment and NBC is relegated to the .2; on the other
two, you can watch Jimmy Fallon on the .1 in glorious HD and Jimmy
Kimmel on the .2 in not-so-glorious SD.  That's assuming you can
receive the signal from any of them--I've never gotten a peep from any
of them...
