But is he totally fired? And does he even want to work there? (see OC
Register excerpt below)

I have to say I honestly don't even get the joke, so I can't figure
out if I should be offended by it. Is the answer to the kid's question
supposed to be "no, I guess you mom is not at home or else you would
not be masturbating in your sister and mother's under garments" or
"no, I guess your mom is not at home or some sick child molester would
not be molesting you"? Or is the answer supposed to be "yes, I guess
your mother is at home, and she is a sick child molester who is
molesting you"? Or is the joke supposed to be that the salesmen is so
intent on making the sale that he does not register the child
molestation in process and keeps trying to make the sale? If it is
anything like any of these three, were is the joke? I don't mean that
it is a tasteless or offensive joke, but I just don't see the elements
of a joke present.

But the biggest question - in the photo in the youtube link Kevin
provides, why is there a picture of Keith Richards standing next to
the guy in the blue Dodgers shirt?

"But the joke – about a door-to-door salesman and a 7-year-old boy –
was only the supporting player in a drama – or comedy, depending on
how you look at – that developed after Conway’s first three shows.

Conway explained in a phone call late Monday night: "Bob Moore
(vice-president and general manager) asked me, 'You’re not happy here,
are you?' I said no, I wasn’t. Bob said he didn’t want FM talk on the
AM. They just wanted me to do topics and take phone calls. I told
him he would be saving my life by letting me go."

Conway added, "I felt absolutely relieved" after the firing.

Conway told Rubin that when he told his daughter Sophia, 3, he was
out of work, she said, "Does that mean no more DVDs?." Later, in a
phone call, Conway added, "She said, 'That’s OK. You did the best you
could.'"

KABC’s Moore responded by e-mail, "Tim is off the night shift, but he
will continue as a fill-in, a position to be defined in the future."
Conway responded, “What? They want me to kill another shift?”"
