The drama series about polygamy has always fictionalized the Church of LDS to avoid controversy from a church that says it doesn't believe in polygamy these days, but when it was announced that an upcoming episode would depict an endowment ceremony considered sacred and private by the church, the Mormons themselves issued complaints--HBO says that the scene is very tasteful and respectful and that Jeanne Tripplehorn's performance as Barb is moving:
