I read that female winner of the U.S. version, Laura Osnes, is taking over for Kelli O'Hara in South Pacific while she's on maternity leave. So, Ms. Osnes is doing quite well for herself.

Perhaps the British version will be better as > Andrew Lloyd Weber, Graham Norton and John Barrowman decide "ANY DREAM WILL > DO" > (BBC America) in the casting of the next lead for "Joseph and the > Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." In a series that is two years old--the "Joseph" revival closes May 30 and the winner left months ago. I suspect that BBCA picked this up mostly because Capt. Jack is on the panel of judges and they can crossplug "Torchwood." This is the second of three runs for the West End casting call format--"How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" found a lead for "Sound of Music" in 2006 and "I'd Do Anything" found a Nancy for "Oliver!" last year. Norton and Lloyd Webber's have been the common bonds in all three series, with Barrowman and Denise Van Outen serving as judges for the last two series. The Beeb seems to have not announced if they're doing a 2009 series, although I assume that's Lloyd Webber's call. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ TV or Not TV ....
