The Jets complained that after the Giants were granted road games in weeks 2 and 3, the Old Green were left with home contests falling on Jewish holidays - Rosh Hashanah one week, Yom Kippur the next (NY is the largest Jewish community in the nation)...the best the League could do to remedy the matter was to move the Yom Kippur game up to 1:00, making for the first head-to-head competition between Jets and Giants telecasts since October 14, 1984 (neither were in town that week):
