If NBC "hates" the show, why did they greenlight it in the first
place? Why is it produced by the in-house production company? Why do
they own the show? Why did they run a huge marketing campaign to
promote the series? Why did they run all those promos on the Super
Bowl--THE BIGGEST TELEVISION EVENT OF THE YEAR--for the show? If
that's "hate"...
Nobody was watching it. OK, very few people. Just like the vast
majority of all new television series. More of them fail then
succeed. At least they are going to play it out in the summer--but
there will be a DVD.
I'm not exactly happy that I have to wait until summer for "Pushing
Daisies" and "Dirty Sexy Money" to burn off, but at least they're
burning off--and ABC didn't "hate" those shows, because they gave them
a second season when most people thought they were dead meat and
promoted the hell out of those shows. But still, NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE
WATCHED. I'm not arrogant enough to believe that my taste is the true
taste of the American viewing public.
