Hi all, Off to NYC for a week this Friday. Was there once before when I was 18 and travelling with relatives (and believe me, the more I plan the more I realize what a golden gift it was to have them pay...)
Now that I'm all growed up and can plan my own itinerary, one of things wife and I want to do is tour 30 Rock. There are two separate tours, one which focuses on the grounds and the building itself, the other which talks about NBC's development and takes you up to a few of the studios. Curious -- has anyone been on the tour lately? Is it worth it? I assume that instead of the Conan set they're now adding the Fallon set to the mix, but any recommendations on best time to go and/or what you get to see? For that matter, if anyone has other itinerary suggestions I'm all ears. We've purposely left the planning to a minimum, because a) we don't like to plan our trips down to the last minute, b) weather in May can change for the worse; and c) we'll be so damn poor by the time we've paid for everything else that most of our trip will be walking and eating cheap (for NYC) food. Fortunately, NYC is on a very small list of excellent walking and food cities, so we'll be fine. Suggestions welcome on- or off-list as appropriate.
