I would not be providing these details if the story linked by Bob didn't contain the reference to the Chicago Sun Times piece. But here's what I believe happened.
A couple of weeks ago HWCNBN took his now nine-month-old son to the set of AI. He still has friends who work on the show, so the assumption can be made that he wanted to show off the baby. The source of this information was a Tweet by a production assistant on the set. The next thing that's said about that day is a story in the National Enquirer -- the one that's repeated by the Chicago Sun Times. Given that he had the baby with him, it's highly unlikely that the story in the piece is true, especially the part about him wanting to mentor the contestants and talk to Adam about a duet. Having been a contestant himself, he would know how things work on the set and would know that the show doesn't work like that. So, the assumption can be made that someone connected with the show deliberately fed a false story to the tabloid -- for the purpose of publicity for Adam and the show. It's my belief that he resented being used like that to pump up Adam (there was also probably some resentment at constantly being linked to him when just about the only thing they have in common is their sexual orientation). However, he couldn't say anything about story until the show wrapped -- or he would be giving the show even more publicity. I think in the blog he merely wanted to make it clear that Adam's style of singing was not his cup of tea, therefore making it clear that the NE/Chicago Sun Times reporting was fabricated. Obviously, his choice of words didn't sit well with a lot of people. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Karla Robinson Sent: Friday, May 22, 2009 9:57 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [TV orNotTV] Re: You-know-who glad Adam lost 'Idol' I'm interested.
