Dave was really in his comfort zone with a sunny Julia Roberts, whereas Coco was trying on the role of Jay the Hollywood Suck-Up with his tedious guest Eddie Murphy. I'd say that would make a boost in Letterman's ratings more likely. For the record, there's been a continuing (although not yet precipitous) decline in Conan's overall numbers since Day #1.
